This app is designed to control the Jetlag Optics LED light system The Jetlag Optics system is designed to utilize exposure to bright light to modify the body internal clock, or circadian rhythm. The lights activate photoreceptors in the eyes, causing a shift in the circadian rhythm. Light therapy is a scientifically-proven method of treatment for jetlag, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and other bodyclock related disorders. Feature 1 Allows for various user-determined durations 1. 15 minutes 2. 30 minutes 3. 45 minutes 4. 60 minutes Feature 2 1. Milisecond flashes of light every 8-seconds for a duration of 1:15 hours A program based on research published by Stanford University in February 2016 which showed that exposure to 1 hour and 15 minutes of brief flashes of light every 8 seconds, early in the sleep cycle, activates photoreceptors and shifts the body clock and delays the onset of sleepiness the following day by two hours. The study group reported a two hour delay in the onset of sleepiness compared to the control group which was exposed to continuous light and only reported a 36 minute delay in sleepiness.
